About the CS2 Economy Calculator
Economy wins rounds before the first shot is fired. This free CS2 economy calculator helps you plan buy rounds, track the loss bonus ladder, calculate kill rewards, and preview exactly how much money you will have next round — for both Terrorist and Counter-Terrorist sides.
Every competitive match runs on a shared team budget. If four players full-buy and one cannot afford a rifle, the round is already compromised. Use the team money tracker to see whether your squad can afford AK-47s, M4s, armor, and utility before you commit to a purchase.
The calculator includes current CS2 weapon prices, buy presets for common loadouts (pistol round, eco, force buy, half buy, full buy, AWP setup), and kill reward breakdowns so you know exactly how much each frag pays with SMGs versus rifles.
How the CS2 loss bonus works
Counter-Strike 2 uses a progressive loss bonus that increases each consecutive round you lose: $1,400 on the first loss, $1,900 on the second, $2,400 on the third, $2,900 on the fourth, and $3,400 from the fifth loss onward. Winning a round drops your bonus by one tier — it does not reset to zero.
Terrorists who plant the bomb receive a $300 individual bonus plus an $800 team bonus even if the round is lost. The money cap is $16,000 per player. Pistol rounds start with $800.
Full buy, force buy, half buy, and eco explained
Knowing when to spend and when to save separates good teams from great ones. Here is how competitive players classify buy rounds:
- Full buy (~$4,100–$5,300): Rifle, Kevlar + Helmet, and full utility. Only buy when every teammate can afford it.
- Force buy ($2,500–$4,000): Spend what you have on SMGs or pistols plus armor. High risk — win this round or be broke next.
- Half buy (~$2,000–$3,500): Cheaper rifle or SMG with partial utility. Common after winning one round mid-streak.
- Eco / save (under $1,000): Buy nothing or a cheap pistol upgrade. Goal is stacking money for a coordinated full buy next round.
Team economy coordination
Money is a team resource. If your team calls a save, keep at least $2,000 in the bank — with the minimum $1,400 loss bonus that gives you $3,400 next round, enough for an AK-47 and armor on T-side. SMG kills pay $600 versus $300 for rifles, making SMGs ideal for anti-eco and force-buy rounds.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much money do you get for winning a round in CS2?
The round win bonus is $3,250 for both sides. Bomb plant gives Terrorists an extra $300 individually plus $800 team bonus on a lost round. Kill rewards range from $300 for rifle kills to $600 for SMG kills.
When should my team eco in CS2?
Eco when fewer than three players can afford a rifle plus armor and utility. Saving together ensures everyone can full-buy the following round. Never force-buy alone while teammates save — you drop a free rifle and break team sync.
What is the CS2 loss bonus cap?
The maximum loss bonus is $3,400, reached after five consecutive round losses. Winning reduces the tier by one step. Losing the pistol round starts you at the $1,900 tier, not $1,400.
How much does a full buy cost in CS2?
A typical T-side full buy (AK-47 + armor + helmet + utility) costs around $4,800–$5,100. CT full buy with M4A1-S, armor, helmet, defuse kit, and nades runs $5,000–$5,300. Use the Buy Presets tab for exact loadout costs.
Why do SMG kills pay more in CS2?
Valve rewards SMG kills with $600 instead of $300 to encourage SMG purchases during force buys and anti-eco rounds. This makes MP9, MAC-10, and other SMGs strong picks when you expect enemies on pistols or saved weapons.
