How CS2 Fade Percentages Work
What is a Fade percentage?
Every CS2 skin has a paint seed (pattern index) from 0 to 1000. For Fade skins, this seed determines how much of the blade or body shows the fade gradient. The best seeds reach 100% fade; the worst sit around 80%. Our calculator uses Valve's open-source pattern algorithm — the same method used by CSFloat, Skinport, and other major marketplaces.
27 weapons and knives including Karambit, Butterfly, M9 Bayonet, AWP, and more. Range: 80–100%.
6 weapons: AUG, Galil AR, MAC-10, P2000, R8 Revolver, and Sawed-Off.
SSG 08 Acid Fade — a unique green-to-purple fade pattern.
What is a paint seed?
The paint seed (also called pattern index) is a number from 0 to 1000 assigned when a skin is unboxed or crafted. It controls the position and rotation of the fade pattern on the weapon.
What does rank mean?
Rank shows how this seed compares to all others for the same weapon. Rank #1 is the best possible fade for that skin; higher numbers mean lower fade percentages.
